Any good science recs? [Apr. 26th, 2006|06:37 pm]

I need one last lab science and a few electives to finally get out of here

Science is NOT my subject - anyone know of an easier science class to take? My friend took GSS 120 sand said it was a breeze, but Nassau changed the requirement for that class to engineering students only as of this coming fall

I know this sounds so dumb, and your all thinking "Why ask because then we'd all be taking it", but any help at all is very much appreciated so I can get out!

Thanks so much!

Hi, I've been in this community for several months and still haven't posted. Might as well do it now though since it's been really qiet in here. I'm Kerri, I'm from Bethpage, and this current semester is my first at Nassau. I transfered over at the end of last semester since I wasn't happy at my former college and wanted to make a new start in a slightly less stressful situation. Not sure what I'm majoring in yet, just taking all kinds of stuff now. I'm doing scheduling for next semester soon and I'm hoping to take Math (so I can get an email address and change my school on facebook lol), Phys Ed (anyone know if there's a Social Dancing class and if so how is it?), Bio, and maybe something else. I'm also taking an English class this summer just to get a few more credits in there and get English 102 out of the way. Anyway, just thought I'd post since I don't have many friends at Nassau yet. Feel free to add me if you want.

Hazing [Mar. 24th, 2006|02:17 pm]

Hello, we are two students at Rochester Institute of Technology currently engaged in an independent study project addressing the issue of hazing. The goal of this project is two-pronged - we wish to discover the prevalence of hazing in the state as well as get your opinion on what should be done about it, if anything.

Under the lj-cut is our survey, which asks a variety of questions about your personal experiences with hazing, and we would greatly appreciate it if you could take a minute or two from your time to fill it out really quickly. We even have questions at the beginning for those who have never experienced hazing but wish to share their opinion on the subject. Additionally, each question gives you the option to answer in more detail beyond the choices we have already provided. We encourage you to take advantage of this if you have more include in your answer.

Your responses to this survey are anonymous, so please do not put your name (or any information that would identify you) anywhere on this survey. You may quit the survey at any time and for any reason, or you may decline to answer any of the questions, but your responses to every question are important and we ask that you answer as many of the questions as you possibly can. You may post your answers however you like - under your user name, anonymously, or you may e-mail them to us at hazing.survey@gmail.com. All posts will be screened, so no one except you, us, and the community administrator will be able to see your responses.

Please inform us of any questions, concerns, or feedback you might have. Thank you in advance for your time.

Okay so this is my first semester at Nassau because my old school made me want to commit suicide.
I'm registered, tuition paid, pretty much set.
Except I don't have a Nassau ID yet.
Where/when should I go to get that all set up?
Thanks a ton.
Cassie.

MAT 102 being a three-credit math course, why would there be six sections that meet 3x a week? All the other sections meet 2x a week. And how is one professor going to teach two classes at the same time?

Has anyone ever taken one of these classes before? I'd like to know what this is about. These are the only open MAT 102 courses that I can take on my schedule.

so i skipped statistics today to make my schedule for next semester. I'm pretty happy with it. and I went to ratemyprofessors.com and supposedly all of my teachers are pretty awesome. ^_^

my schedule is:

Monday~~
6:25pm-7:45pm: Mus103
Tuesday~~
1:00-2:15: Bio101
2:30-4:45: Eng 251(Film and lit)
Wednesday~~
2:00-4:45: Bio101 lab
6:25-7:45: Mus103
Thursday~~
1:00-2:15: Bio101

And I'm also taking sociology101, but its an online course and my advisor called the dept to see if it was totally online, which it is, so i never have to meet the professor or go in for a test. There's probably papers to write and any tests would be online or something we get mailed to us. awesome :)
